Isaiah Young
Hello! My name is Mr. Young and I began my career in education at The Colony High School and then transitioned to R.L. Turner High School. I have served as an Assistant Principal at Dan F. Long Middle School, and my 19-year journey includes teaching in both the social studies and the special education classrooms. I have also served as a coach in multiple sports. I recently finished my fourth year as an administrator and I hope my experience and enthusiasm will contribute to the success of the Trojan family!

Jimmy Fellbaum
Howdy! My name is Jimmy Fellbaum and this is my 18th year in education. Coming from a family of educators, I have always had a deep appreciation for learning and a passion for sharing ideas with others. I am a Texas Aggie and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Minor in Coaching. Recognizing the importance of leadership in education, I furthered my academic pursuits by obtaining a Masters in Educational Leadership from TWU. I have held various positions at Field, Perry, and most recently with us at Newman Smith High School.

Sophomores
Vanessa Smith
Hello! My name is Vanessa Smith and I am excited to be returning to CFBISD and joining Newman Smith this year as an assistant principal. I am beginning my sixteenth year in education this year, including two years teaching at Turner High School and three years at Vivian Field Middle School. I most recently served as an AP at Nimitz High School in Irving ISD for three years, and prior to that, I served three years as an AP at DeZavala Middle School. I attended Davis and Montgomery Elementary School, Vivian Field Middle School, and Turner High School. After high school, I served eight years in the United States Marine Corps before heading to college. I have an associate’s in art from Brookhaven College, a bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University in Family Consumer Science, a master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Human Sciences-Hospitality Administration, and received my principal certification from Lamar University. Outside of school Mrs. Smith likes to spend time with her husband, children and twin sister, and travel as much as possible.

Malcom Watson
My name is Malcolm Watson and I have been serving in CFB schools for 11 years, My philosophy centers on fostering well-rounded individuals. A proud product of the Dallas area, I went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University, and obtained a master’s degree in Sport Management from Texas A&M University. Beyond his dedication to Newman Smith, Mr. Watson finds joy in spending quality time with his wife, supporting his children's activities, staying active through workouts, and enjoying a friendly game of basketball. He is excited to serve Trojan Nation, relentlessly committed to empowering scholars to reach their full potential.
