CFBISD Wrestlers Advance to Regionals

Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD wrestlers from Creekview High School, Newman Smith High School, and R. L. Turner High School are set to wrestle April 16-17 at Anna High School in the Texas UIL Regional Wrestling Tournament.

CFBISD is a contender for the regional title as 26 student-athletes in all from Creekview High School, Newman Smith High School, and R. L. Turner High School are set to compete, with nine district champions among the crowd.

At the District 9-5A match, the Creekview High School Girls Wrestling Team brought home the District 9-5A Championship, while the R. L. Turner High School Girls Wrestling Team finished runner-up.

Among CFBISD coaching staffs, Creekview High School Head Coach Sean Kitchen was voted District 9-5A Head Coach of the Year, while Creekview High School Assistant Coach Chris Ding was voted District 9-5A Assistant Coach of the Year.

Those advancing to the UIL State Tournament will compete Friday, April 23rd - Saturday, April 24th – 2021 at the Berry Center in Cypress, Texas.
